PSS Systems Launches Independent Forum to Help Companies Meet Governance, Compliance and Oversight Challenges
Palo Alto, California, February 24, 2004 — PSS Systems, Inc., a pioneer in document policy solutions that span the information lifecycle, today launched the Compliance, Governance & Oversight Council (CGOC), an independent forum designed to provide expert insight as well as strategic and tactical advice to corporate executives responsible for enhancing and enforcing their corporate governance practices.
The Council’s programs will include webcasts delivered through the CGOC portal site, as well as executive breakfasts held around the country. Events will feature thought leaders and experts on regulatory compliance, litigation and electronic discovery, risk assessment and records retention, and other governance topics. In addition, CGOC will publish articles and white papers that contain primary research and the insights of its speaker alumni.
"With the increased focus on corporate governance, business executives are faced with new challenges; new requirements create new operational and cost burdens. CGOC provides them the opportunity to hear new models for achieving governance goals in the context of competitive business goals and share their own insights with colleagues and peers," said Deidre Paknad, president and CEO of PSS Systems.
Among the featured speakers for the 2004 program of events, which kicks off Wednesday, February 25, will be Adam Cohen, a partner at Weil Gotshal & Manges and co-author of the recent book "Electronic Discovery: Law and Practice," and Fred Diers, Entium Technology Partners executive and past president of ARMA International.
